OMD or ROO? Questions answered here
This guide will show you about OMD and ROO, and help you to decide what faction you want to join when the time comes.
What's ROO?
ROO is a faction, like the OMD. It stands for 'Rebels Oppressing OMD'. They oppress the OMD and do whatever they can to remove them from power. Their team colour is Red, while OMD is Blue. You automatically join ROO (as a trial) at level 45 as you enter the city of Oros. You will get to do some missions with them, helping to destroy the OMD once and for all.
But I don't want to be ROO!
When you reach level 54, and do the mission, you get the choice of changing sides back to OMD where you will fight ROO and stop them from taking OMD down, or you can stay as ROO and help take OMD down. This choice is permanent and you cannot change back unless you make a new License.
What's the best faction?
It depends on what you like doing, and what you think will benefit you the most. I personally chose OMD but the choice is up to you. When you choose a faction, the faction you pick will affect the storyline and the rewards you receive from missions.
Pick OMD if:
-You like tons of mito and want the latest and greatest parts
-You like challenging and interesting missions
-You like having the ability to solo-HUV and in parties
-For completing the last mission, you receive 100k mito
-You don't enjoy patrolling*
OMD grants you extra mito on mission completion and in other tasks, but lacks in XP.
Pick ROO if:
-You want to level up fast and don't like grinding
-You like easy missions which can be completed fast
-You like doing patrols
-For completing the last mission, you receive 20k mito
-You don't enjoy HUVing**
ROO grants you extra XP on mission completion and in other tasks, but lacks in mito.
*Note: Choosing OMD will grant you less XP while doing patrols so if you like doing patrols, I suggest you pick ROO.
**Note: Choosing ROO will remove your ability to do HUV chasing solo, unless you have a ROO Call Unit. This also applies to the level 45-54 transition.
HUVing
OMD is the most ideal faction for HUVing as they have the ability to call HUVs anytime. ROO does not have this ability, though ROO members can purchase a ROO Call Unit. These become expended after each chase so this is not the ideal faction to be HUVing solo. Though this is a different story if the ROO member is in an OMD party, where an OMD caller may start the HUVs for the ROO member.
OMD users will receive a lot of XP for HUVing (as do ROO) so it can be argued that OMD receive more XP AND more mito.
Patrolling
While ROO receive more XP doing patrols (roughly 2xp more per point), they may yield some goodies such as Hyper Mittron Enhancers, which can go for roughly 50-60k on the Auction House. So it can also be argued that ROO receive more XP AND more mito, as the mittron enhancers are worth a lot of money on the Auction House.
If you've managed to read each section, you should of gathered that OMD is not better than ROO, and vice versa. They both receive a lot of XP and mito, but they just have different ways of doing it, and different bonuses when it comes to missions. So this decision is purely your choice, and you should choose it on what faction you actually prefer.
